The horseracing season was off to a busy start in 1976. Attendance was set to hit 60,000 people for the first 13 days of racing—up 11.7 percent from the same period in 1975.
This late July evening was the first Wednesday racing of the year, celebrated with Ladies’ Night. All ladies were admitted for free.
Attendees were also invited to enter a drawing to win one of three 1976 Ford Pintos.
